These hit with sanctions embrace Chen Mingguo, the director of the Xinjiang Public Safety Bureau, who the EU stated was answerable for “critical human rights violations”; senior Chinese language officers Wang Mingshan and Wang Junzheng; and the previous head of China’s Xinjiang area, Zhu Hailun. One entity, the Xinjiang Manufacturing and Development Corps Public Safety Bureau, was additionally sanctioned.
